Masahiro Distillery was founded in 1883 by Shobun Higa. His father – Shozoku Higa (the master chef for Ryuku Kingdom) had an established reputation in Ryuku Kingdom and he was awarded with the license for Awamori production (Okinawa’s spirits). Shozoku’s passion for cuisines is still alive and Masahiro Distillery is famous for its production techniques, prominent qualities, and passion for innovation over 130 years. It is also the first distillery that produces the first gin in Okinawa region, Masahiro gin.
Nose: Rich and sweet butter with caramel, spices from sapwood like bourbon whisky.
Palate: sweet and buttery, like caramel, roasted wood, liquorice. With an extinguish taste of spice such as cloves and cinnamon.
Finish: bitterness with long finish of spices, that brings back the sweetness
