L’Essence is a treasured jewel of the House of Courvoisier created using a blend of over 100 exceptionally rare eaux-de-vies from Grand Champagne and Borderies, with some dating back to the beginning of the 20th Century, and complemented by younger cognacs that highlight the House’s innovation in distillation and barrel-making techniques. 

Richly coloured and glowing with a fine glimmering copper hue, this complex expression opens with exquisite notes of sandalwood and cigar leaves with the subtle perfume of early summer blossom, followed by toffee, marzipan and fresh honey. The sweet sophistication and smouldering intensity of each sip develops to bring surprisingly delicate notes of liquorice, dried plum and apricot building to a decadent and lingering finish.
