Paloma Spring Mountain Merlot is a full-bodied wine from the Paloma Vineyard in the Spring Mountain District of Napa Valley, California: 
Color: A dense ruby-purple color 
Flavor: Notes of strawberry jam, black cherries, oak, herbs, chocolate, blackberry compote, black currants, Kalamata olives, baker's chocolate, and licorice 
Body: Medium-bodied with moderately tight tannins and a touch of sweetness 
Aging: Aged in French oak for 18 months, then bottle-aged for an additional 30 months 
Pairing: Pairs well with stuffed mushrooms and roasted pork loin 
Notes from reviews: Some say the wine is concentrated, mouthfilling, and structured for further aging. Others say it's incredibly age-able, with black fruit, tobacco, spice, and chocolate notes.
