The name Farnito is derived from a type of oak tree known as Farna found in the vicinity of the vineyards. Carpineto Farnito Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from estate-grown fruit. A full-bodied Super Tuscan, Carpineto Farnito is a rich expression of the Cabernet Sauvignon varietal boasting complex aromas of ripe red cherry with concentrated flavors of spice and licorice. Aged in French and American oak barrels for 12 months, the wine is structured with a vanilla note and big tannins marking the finish.

This supple, black currant-, blackberry-, iron-, olive- and cedar-infused red shows its Tuscan roots as well as good varietal character. Elegant and harmonious, this is enjoyable now, yet should age well over the next decade. Drink now through 2035.

Tar and graphite contrast with quiet but dense notes of dark berries and herbs on the nose of this Cabernet Sauvignon. The palate gets even juicier with berries, and more savory with camphor, grill smoke and peppery astringency. Tannins are coiled tight still and acid kicks back softly.
