Bodega Noemia Malbec 2019 750ml

Bodega Noemia is one of the southern-most wineries in the world. A region of glacial origins with poor soil and limestone-rich bedrock, it benefits from the mineral-rich waters of the Limay and Neuquen rivers. First plated in 1932, the original pre-phylloxera rootstock of the vineyards was carefully resuscitated starting in 2001, and winemaker Hans Vinding-Diers oversaw the estate'd Massale selections in order to create tailored vineyard compositions. 

The bouquet of this wine is an intense dark fruit, with hints of coffee, dark chocolate and spice notes. Its flavor is well-balanced and elegant; well-integrated fruit, tannins and acidity; with a persistent, long finish.

The nose is a pure compendium of fresh plum and sweet and sour cherry along with violets and a hint of tea. The aging process flirts with revealing itself but is only really an insinuation. Things get even better in the complex mouth: the proportion of all the different parts – acidity, tannins and alcohol – ensures good balance and fits perfectly together in a way that they continue right through to a finish where the whole becomes more than the sum. A deliciously detailed wine.
