House of Hazelwood The Spirit of Scotland 46 Year old 43.6% ABV 700ml

This exceptional blend was first created in 1994 to commemorate the 500th Anniversary of the oldest recorded reference to Scotch whisky within the 1494 Exchequer rolls of Scotland. Since first being blended, the spirit has lain in cask for a further 28 years, developing with every year and building into a truly exceptional, fully unified Blended Scotch Whisky. 

• An extensive secondary maturation of 28 years in American Oak Hogshead Casks.
• Offered at a natural cask strength.
• Free from added colour.
• Non-chill filtered.
• Packaged in a hand-labelled, individually numbered decanter with accompanying gift box.

Nose

On the nose there is the warming character of syrup, treacle, and baking aromas alongside antique notes of manuscript paper and old books.

Palate

The palate brings a hint of smoke, bright flashes of lemon pie and a mouth-watering aspect with a long and wonderfully smooth finish.
