Pouring a deep, brilliant ruby, it opens with an expressive nose of dark plum, wild blackberry, and crushed cassis, intricately layered with complex undertones of dried lavender, sage, warm baking spices, and a touch of mocha. On the palate, the wine delivers a full-bodied, multi-dimensional profile packed with intense flavors of fresh black cherry, espresso bean, and graphite. Full-bodied, firm and juicy tannins with good acidity backbone. Sound and harmonious wine with beautiful drinkability. Terrific quality. This needs two or three years to take the edge off it.
